OUR COVENANT OF FELLOWSHIP
Believing that every member of the body of Christ is
called to a life of discipleship the members of our church enter into
the following covenant with one another.
By the help and guidance of the Holy Spirit, we do
covenant together to:
- Demonstrate the love of Christ to one another. (John 13:34,35; 1
John 4:7)
- Be accountable to others for my growth in Christ and be an encouragement
to others to grow in Christ. (Heb. 3:13; 10:24,25)
- Pray with and for one another in the local church and for all believers
in the Lord Jesus Christ, thereby sharing our burdens, sorrows and
joys. (Rom. 12:15; Eph. 6:18)
- Be thoughtful of and courteous to one another, be slow to take offense
and be quick to forgive and to seek forgiveness. (Eph. 4:29-32; James
1:19)
- Be faithful in the use of my spiritual gifts to minister in at least
one ministry in our fellowship. (Phil. 4:3: 1 Pt 4:10)
- Contribute, as the Lord enables, to the financial support of the
church, the relief of the needy and the evangelization of all people.
(1 Cor. 16:2; 9:3-18; 2 Cor. 8:1-5; 9:6-8)
- Engage regularly in personal Bible reading and prayer, and establish
family devotions where possible. (Ps 1:1-3, 1 Thess. 5:17)
- Bring up my children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
(Duet. 6:6,7; Eph. 6:4)
- Live my life in honesty and faithfulness before all men so that
the name of Christ will be well spoken of as a result of my testimony.
(Rom 12:17; 1 Thess. 4:11,12; Titus 2:10-12)
- Endeavor by example, by word and by prayer to win others to an acceptance
of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Matt 28:19,20; Acts 1:8)
- Attend the worship services consistently and be a part of a small
group (Impact Group) for accountability and growth. (Acts 2:42; Heb.
10:24,25)
- Be in submission to the spiritual leadership of the fellowship.
(Heb. 13:17: 1 Thess. 5:12-14)
- All members shall seek to resolve personal disputes with other believers
through Christian mediation according to the principles of Matthew18:15-20
and 1 Corinthians 6:1-11.
