WHAT WE TEACH   An Expanded Doctrinal Statement of the Visalia Evangelical Free Church

Preface

Recognizing that the Bible is the very Word of the living God to man, and understanding the priority of knowing and obeying its truths, the Elders of Visalia Evangelical Free Church are deeply committed to studying and teaching Scripture with diligence and authority. Thus, the central ministry of VEFC is imparting the biblical truth to the people of God in order that they may know God and serve Him in worship and ministry. The Board of Elders of the Visalia Evangelical Free Church recognizes that any doctrinal statement is but a fallible human attempt to summarize and systematize the riches of an infallible divine revelation. But this in no way detracts from the importance of such a statement. The affirmations, which follow, carefully specify the teaching position of our church with regard to the major biblical doctrines, and thus provide a framework for the ongoing curriculum and instruction at our church. They also provide an anchor to protect our church from practical and doctrinal error. For this reason, members of the pastoral staff, elder board and teachers within our body are required to teach within the framework of this Statement of Faith.
