| The purpose of the
Rat Pack is to develop ministry skills and further the church's
philosophy of ministry of "Win, Build, Send" in the
lives of elementary students.
This purpose will be reached as these students:
- WIN others to Christ by being trained and involved in community
outreaches to children and by being encouraged to be a witness
to their friends.
- BUILD other Christians by presenting God's truth dramatically
and by using their gifts to encourage others.
- Are SENT out with a vision for ministry and all that God
can do through them as they are properly equipped
|
The Family Pastor, after discussion with the 4th, 5th, and
6th grade Sunday School teachers and AWANA leadership, will
select those students that best demonstrate these qualities as may be indicated by the following activities:
- faithful attendance at church activities (esp. Sunday School)
- a teachable spirit.
- active participation in Sunday School discussions and activities.
- submission to parents and those in authority.
- satisfactory grades / progress in school.
Those students who are selected will be asked to sign a Rat
Pack Covenant along with their parents and will asked to make
a commitment for a period of 6 months. The Rat Pack will meet
on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month from 10:30 a.m. to
11:45 a.m. in Room 9. There will also periodically be other
meetings that will be scheduled with ample notice and at a convenient
time for all students.
